NYC’s Holiday Train Show Returns

Oct 30, 2017 Dr Kristina Nelson

If you’re looking for something fun and free to do this holiday season that the entire family can enjoy, then consider attending NYC’s Holiday Train Show, held at Grand Central Terminal from November 16th to February 4th. You’ll get to feel like a child again as check out displays with your children and see beautiful model trains zipping around a model display of New York city’s historic landscape. And even if you don’t have children and simply love trains and railroads, you’ll experience enjoyment as you witness the incredible model train displays, set-up with an enchanting holiday ambiance you won’t want to miss.

Tiny Trains And A Model Of NYC

You certainly can’t beat the price of this free event, and you’ll get to see a stunning layout of model train sets that include an astonishing two-level, 34-foot long model of NYC with Lionel model trains zipping through the miniature replica city. Plus, many model trains will also demonstrate vintage trains that are part of the museum’s collection travel from NYC to the North Pole.

This year’s model railroad diorama city was designed by Brooklyn-based artist Josh Cochran, an artist familiar with conceptual drawings and known for creating bright, vivid presentations. Cochran’s art has appeared in everything from scale models to children’s books, and his goal with this display was to capture the vibrancy of New York City during the holiday season. Cochran is a Grammy-nominated illustrator whose model train setup will delight and captivate guests who witness its energy and holiday presence.
